In the Merry Month of May

There was a fantastic turnout for the Bright Stars Youth Club and the Ballykeel Together Development Association took them on a lovely day out horse riding. Everyone had a great time and it was a lovely day for everyone involved. Nearby, Ballykeel 2 and District Community Association have adopted the Ballymena Belters Community Choir, who had their opening evening on the 4th of May and their first rehersal on the 11th to great success. Meanwhile the Ballykeel 1 Moving Forward Community Group have started their new 8-week trial for Netball classes and, by popular demand, have opened it up to anyone aged 12 years and over.

Over in Harryville, both the Walking Group and the Big Clean-up Saturdays put on by the Harryville Resident's Association are going strong! The last Big Clean-up Saturdays managaed to lift a full 260kg of litter, so congratulations to everyone who took part! The approaching summer has other groups very busy, with the Scullery O'Tullagh allotments in full bloom and the Men's Shed making some lovely garden furniture. The Carson Project had a successful Slow Cooker Demonstration Course, all the better to do something tasty with that upcoming fresh fruit and veg!

The Ballee Community Association's Childcare centre continues to provide much needed support for families in the community and is busy preparing for their upcoming June Open Day for children due to start Pre Preschool in September. The 60+ Luncheon Club is as lively as ever and looking forward to both an interesting Police Safety talk and the very exciting upcoming Jubilee celebration.

Things seem to be heating up in more ways than one as we move into summer and we here at the Ballymena South Community Cluster are very much looking forward to what's ahead! For more information about our Cluster Community activities, please contact Hannah on 02825 631 350.
