Spring Forward Into the Future

We had a great turnout for the Carson Project children's music therapy session on Saturday. Some of the kids had made their own instruments previously in an arts and crafts session and brought them along. The kids had an opportunity to learn about new musical instruments and try them out in a fun and relaxed environment. A big thank you to Ronda from the Carson Project for organising the event and to Fergus Boyle for delivering the session. This was all made possible through the Tesco 'Bags of Help' Community Fund. Also in Harryville, the Men's Shed are coming to the end of a joinery class and the Braidwater Senior's Group have completed a craft class, both through the CALL Project.

In Ballykeel 1, work has now commenced at Barra Drive which is being redeveloped into a new garden. This will be a fantastic addition to the area and Barra Drive residents are looking forward to the beautiful change of scenery on their doorstep. This was all made possible through the hard work of Ballykeel 1 Moving Forward Community Group and NIHE. Down the road a little bit Ballykeel 2 and District Community Association will be running a pilot Parent's and Tots group. This will commence on 26th April to the 21st June 2022, 10-12pm. For more information about this, please contact the group at the Ballykeel 2 and District Facebook Page.

Over in Ballee, the Ballee Community Association are making plans for Easter as well as a Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration. The Ballee 60+ Luncheon Club are currently reaching out to new potential members in the Ballymena area. The club meets every Wednesday from 10.30am to 1.30pm at Ballee Community Centre. Entry is £5 for activities, games and a warm cooked meal. Also in Ballee, the Seven Towers Community Association are in discussions with NIHE, Department for Communities Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership and ourselves in relation to a proposed Community Workshop that will be utilized for a number of training and upskilling opportunities. For more information about our Cluster Community activities, please contact Hannah on 02825 631 350.
